Ed Hamrick posted a few weeks ago that the MMSP has a 9600 dpi
stepper motor, but uses a divisor of 2 or 3 to achieve 4800 dpi
or 3200 dpi.

Since he didn't say a divisor of 1 is possible, I assume it is not.
(Could be a hardware or firmware constraint.)

Now, can we do this?

Pass one: scan at 4800 dpi.
Pass two: move forward one step at 9600 dpi. Scan at 4800 dpi.

Is this possible?

*  That's all, folks!  *
