I have now solved the problem in that when on Ed's site he has a reference to
SCSI drivers for W2K. I run a Tekram SCSI card and downloaded the other
drivers for ASPI and loaded that into the box.

So in other words I have loaded W2K ASPI drivers for the SCSI card into XP.

Now everything works with Nikon scan 3.1 and Vuescan scanning wise as stand
alone and from Photoshop 6.

Thanks

Rob
