No, its not the hidden extensions, because Photoshop (LE) won´t even recognize the file before I renamed it.

Assuming you're a Windows user, your Folder Options might be set to "Hide Extensions for Known File Types." This would mean that Vuescan is saving them as .TIF files, but Explorer just isn't showing it. Or is this not the case?
