You could use Vuescan to do quick low resolution scans of
the whole strip, and then display them in your favourite
viewer that has a thumbnail browser, e.g., PaintShopPro, or
in Ed Hamrick's very fast Vueprint viewer, for which you got
a licence when you bought Vuescan.
