filmscanners: A picture can say more...(was: nikonscan white clipping)

Hi everybody,

there was a request for explanation (the original message is on my
office machine, so I am not sure who posted it) as to my workflow in
getting good scans out of negatives with Nikon Scan, avoiding clipped
highlights and such, by using the curve tool as I explained yesterday.

Instead of making lots of words again, I have put up a picture which
shows the respective histogram views of the Nikon Scan GUI, with a few
annotations of mine on how I get the job done. you can find it at

http://schmode.net/nikonscantweak.jpg

If there are any more questions as to my proceedings, I'll be delighted
to answer them.

Best regards -

Ralf
