Sadly, given the focus problems, yes it is.  I wouldn't buy a scanner 
without it so long as one was available with ICE. What's worse, I thing 
that ROC is (would be in my case) very valuable for those of us with old 
slides too, and maybe GEM would help me a lot with my grain problems.

I wish Polaroid / Microtek would bring out a scanner with ICE, ROC and 
GEM.  I wish.
