*sigh* No, it doesn't.  It has to do with the hardware of the card and the
drivers.  I have no doubt there were vendors who provided drivers for 95
which supported gamma.  Microsoft themselves certainly didn't for my i740,
but they did under 98SE.  My point still stands about the Windows CMS 2.0
and 98SE however.  The CMS in 95 was broken, and it was broken in the
original 98 release as well.
