The Journal of Forensic Identification is a scientific journal that provides more than 100 pages of articles related to forensics. Such articles are written by forensic authorities from around the world who are practitioners or academics in forensic science fields.

Examples of articles include case studies of closed criminal cases, evidence collection, crime scene processing, blood pattern interpretation, footwear and tiretrack preservation and examination, latent print processing techniques, fingerprint comparison, forensic photography, forensic art, and DNA analysis studies. Full color printing is provided when deemed appropriate without charge to the author.

The JFI is published bimonthly and hardcopies are distributed during the first two weeks of the publication month. Circulation of the JFI is in excess of 7000 hardcopies, which are mailed to members and subscribers throughout the world.

Electronic copies of all articles published in the JFI since 1998 are available online to the members of the International Association for Identification without charge. A searchable database is also available to members. Early posting of the electronic copies occurs three to four weeks in advance of the hardcopy distribution. Electronic copies of the JFI are also available at many universities through the university’s EBSCO Criminal Justice database service. It is also indexed by the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (www.ncjrs.gov).
