Submitting a Complaint
Please be advised that all complaints against a certified latent print examiner regarding technical errors, ethics violations or professional misconduct must be submitted to the I.A.I. President in writing before any action can be taken. The complaint letter must be signed and accompanied by supporting documentation. Please note that no action can be taken against any individual until the President is in receipt of the requisite information and the Latent Print Certification Board has subsequently been informed.
Upon receipt of notification of a complaint by the I.A.I. President, the Chairperson of the Latent Print Certification Board will then initiate the investigation process. Full details of the process can be found under Section XI, Censure, Suspension or Revocation of Certification.

Those Applying for Certification
As part of their application process, all applicants for certification will have their names published in the JFI Newsletter (Identification News). If you feel an applicant should not be permitted to be certified for any reason, or would like to voice your comments on their application, please contact the Secretary of the Latent Print Certification Board as soon as possible.
