[filmscanners] Re: Scanning Overexposed Slides

Yeah, I'm also aware of the frustration that can arise from overexposed
slides. Even though one can hold the transparency at a certain angle to
the light and see quite a bit of detail (albeit on the light side), my
LS-2000 just is incapable of getting enough detail to prove even adequate.

Generally speaking, one can rescue slides which are one & two EV
stops underexposed, and perhaps more, but the same doesn't hold true
for overexposure. And no amount of tweaking in Photoshop can
rescue a 2-stop overexposure (although I would love to learn that I'm
wrong!)

It's too late for this remedy, but the development of the films may have
been able to be adjusted to compensate to a large extent...but I don't know
if that works for slide film. It's academic now; the detail is lost.
