I don't know whether this issue is specific to my Nikon LS30, or whether
it happens with other scanners.  I have noticed that if I abort a scan part
way through by hitting the escape key, the scanner tends to produce banding
on the next scan unless I reboot the PC.  Presumably something in the scanner
isn't being reset correctly without a reboot?

Has anyone else experienced this when trying to abort a scan?
