[filmscanners] Re: Which Film Scanner for B&W negatives?



Possibly the best used 35mm film scanner for b&w negs would be the Polaroid
SS4000+
that scanner had a cult following in b&w circles.

The earlier one had flimsy negative holders, but the Plus version had better
ones. Combined with Vuescans and it was a hard combination to beat.
regrettably it is no longer being sold.

As for new scanners, I would go with the Minolta 5400 also with Vuescan
scanning software.
