Truely sorry about your mother, my condolences; but there is nothing that
isn't open as a subject of humor.  Obviously, nothing in the kuidding was
directed at or toward your mother but toward the illness.  While those that
suffer from the conditions that are the subject of the humor may be overly
sensative and take exception, kidding about the illnesses often takes the
edge of fear of of them and puts things into perspective.  If we stopped
kidding about serious things, we would not laugh at all.

As for your ego, all I can say is that is a big ego if nothing can keep it
into check.  Did you send away for one of those SPAM ego enlargement kits or
just get one of the advertised ego implants? :-)
