[filmscanners] RE: 3 Newbie questions

The author specifically wanted slides, not digital images nor
transparencies. There was a problem though. In some cases I didn't
have slides, only 6 x 7 cm transparencies. Also, some of my slides
of earlier work were badly off color. In the past when I tried to
have color corrected duplicate slides made, the results were worse
than the originals.

It was my thought therefore, to scan and color correct as necessary,
and send the digital results on a CD. I also thought that if this
process worked, I could in the future, send digital images to other
authors who ask for images, since I often do not get my slides or
transparencies back. So I bought a scanner, upgraded the processor in
a Mac, and hired a graphic designer to scan at high resolution,
hundreds of slides and transparencies, and prepare them for
printing. Later if I needed anything smaller, I could always convert
down.

But now I'm learning, thanks to Laurie, and Paul, that what I thought
would be a nifty solution to two problems, (color and non return),
is not nearly as straight forward as I had at first imagined.

Many thanks to you both. You've been an immense help.
