FYI:
Am using a SS4000 with a Belkin Firewire-SCSI adapter on a Mac with OS
X 10.2 using Vuescan, as per Website suggestion. Works great. Note that
Belkin says that the adapter will NOT work - "Only works with hard
disks." Be nice if the vendors tried things before they made
statements; but I guess it is better to discourage if in doubt than
sell and disappoint.
