[filmscanners] RE: SS4000 Slide holders/won't scan last slide

It's either dust in the scanner (use the little brush to clean it) or it's a
defective holder. The spare holder I got from Polaroid had this problem but
the one that came with my scanner and the ones I just bought on eBay are
fine. When I compared the holder I bought from Polaroid to the one that came
with the scanner and the ones from eBay I could see some differences. I
returned the defective holder to Polaroid for a refund. Also, make sure that
nothing is blocking the slide holder at the back of the scanner. There is
no reason why all four slides shouldn't scan properly.

If you're worried about slides in the second holder collecting dust just
cover it with a clean sheet of paper while you are waiting.

I would be afraid they'd collect dust just sitting there. I do have two
extras, as I ordered 3 from Polaroid before I discovered the superglue
trick and after I'd thrown out one of the springs. My SS4000 only scans
the first three slots anyhow. The fourth slot always winds up scanning
the middle of a holder. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong here?
