[filmscanners] Re: Cheap 2400DPI scanner?

Yep. I have one. The usual groan for us folk down here in NZ - it was
$NZ699 = about $US320. Works OK. Slightly softer than my 2700 dpi Canon
FS2710 filmscanner. Pretty acceptable results from 35mm negs. I'm thinking
of trying MF and it will be just dandy for that. I don't like the auto
feature of the supplied supplied Twain driver much - I ended up tweaking
the histogram out to both ends to capture all the detail then sorting it
out in PSP with iCorrect.

I would think evenness & size of tranny coverage would be just fine. There
are plastic masks for 6 35mm negs/slide or 4 6x6. Using other sizes eg 6x9
would no be hard. Light in lid is only about 7 cm wide.

Of course YMMV ......

I don't know what the 2450 does that this one doesn't .....
