I know for a fact that it will not scan panoramic medium format images.
The scanner will  preview a 6x24 image but not scan it. The maximum scan
area remains at 6x9

It should work with the glass carrier which is available from Polaroid.  I
just got one and have used it a few times.  I don't have 6x17 negs but it
can scan a several negative long strip of 6x7, and allows scanning up to
6x24.
