I'll check to see if I can get USB2 support on 2K (it's built into my Intel
motherboard). I'd also like to try to run my Epson 1270 on USB to see if the
speed improves.

Define 'quite a while' <g>. In the PC world 'quite a while' may be less than a
year. Seriously, I am now leaning toward upgrading to 2000 which will get me USB
support (and hopefully USB2), DirectX 8, and save me $750 on a new scanner also.
I can upgrade from NT to 2000 without installing everything from scratch.
