[filmscanners] Stock Photos and a Scanner Question...

> A recent thread has veered slightly towards stock photographs...

SD and Fellow Listreaders:

This was my mistake. It just happens that there are several
prominent contributors to both this list and the Stockphoto list and
I got a bit confused.

In fact, I'd been ribbing Anthony about Paris prices on that list too.

> Just curious as to the present trend of "stock photographers"...

> 1/ Do they only give TPs to stock agencies?
> 2/ Do they retain the originals and give dupes to the agencies?
> 3/ Or do they, now, scan their own TPs and submit thefiles?
> 4/ If the latter (files) what's the file specs for stuff shot on 35mm?

Each agency and market has different answers for these
questions. I suggest you first find an agency that is successful in
marketing the sorts of images you want to shoot in the media you
want them to appear in, and then ask them.

When you get some answers, bring them over to the Stockphoto
Mailinglist where such topics are the subject of regular debate.

And a scanner question too...

Does anybody know where to get a Nikon LS 4500 repaired in the
NY area besides Nikon? (I'd prefer a shop in New Jersey or the 5
boros if possible)
