[filmscanners] RE: Nikon Coolscan

I would beg to differ with you. the logical inevitability which you tout is
predicated on your basic premise ("If GF is not useful....") which is in
question itself. Not only is this something that you assume which others do
not agree with either as being the appropriate assumption based on the
content of the discussion that was beign engaged in or in substance as being
an accurrate assumption, the premise is irrelevant to the question itself
that was originally raised by the questioner and being discussed by others.
You may not feel that the origianl question is a meaningful or valid
question, and that is your right; but it was still the original question
that was being asked and responded to by those who did think it a legitimate
question. You are entirely within your right to change the question or raise
a new one; but you need to acknowledge the change and warn peoloe that you
are making the change so that attention will be knowingly directed toward
the new question.

Under the conditions stated, its irrelevance is a logical inevitability, not
merely a subjective assessment.

If the scanner were kept in total darkness, its color would not be visible,
and so discussions of the cabinet color would be moot. This is analogous to
the current discussion concerning GF. There is little point in discussing
the availability of a product if it has no utility.

Testosterone encourages it.
