You select the number of bits for output in a different place (Files) to
selecting number of bits for scan.

Another thing is I select 48 bits in Vuescan but it gives 24 bit output.
I looked at the file properties of the file generated by Vuescan using
explorer, its 24 bit.
It seems Vuescan does not return 48 bit, I have Minolta Dimage Elite II
which supports 16 bits.
