[filmscanners] Nikonscan Curves resolution

I'm not sure if it has been discussed or not, but I was wondering
if the Nikonscan curves adjustment uses the full resolution, or 8bits?
Thanks to the help from this list, I am getting much better scans of
old slides with color management off and using the curves and
gain adjustments directly in Nikonscan. However, when I look at
the tiff file in photoshop, the histograms look choppy (missing codes?).
Which leads me to wonder if the curves adjustment from nikonscan
is using the full 12 bits from the LS-2000 scanner or whether it
truncates to 8 bits. Anyone know for sure?

Wayne
