[filmscanners] Problems installing Adaptec OEM SCSI card

I'm having problems with installing the Adaptec 2903 SCSI card which was
bundled with the Artixscan 4000t under Windows 2000 Pro. The card is the
OEM version of the 2906.

My set up is:

Athlon 1700XP
Asus A7A266
512MB RAM

The system has trouble with installing the drivers under Win 2k. It doesn't
work with standard plug-n-play nor with the updated driver from Adaptec's
site for the 2906.. However, it installs (p-n-p) without a glitch under Win
98SE.

I wondered if I had IRQ conflicts and have freed up several IRQ numbers by
disabling onboard soundcard and spare COM ports, and have specifically
assigned each of the freed up numbers in turn to the PCI slot I'm using.
I've also tried a couple of other available PCI slots and again assigned
each of the freed up IRQs. No luck.

Anyone come across something similar? I've had difficulties contacting
Microtek support here in the UK. I'll keep trying, including US support,
but just wondered if someone on the list might have had similar experiences
that they might like to share.

K2
