I got the brush from Polaroid. I used it once.  No problems.  I don't know
if it did any good.  I didn't have dust problems.  I put a cover over the
scanner when I'm not using it.  I am waiting to hear of an instance in which
someone develops a dust problem that is fixed by using the brush before I
dig it out and run it through again.
