I wouldn't worry about it. I've never had a brush or had any dust problems,
and my SS4000 is >2yrs old and gets lots of use. It lives in, er, less than
clean-room environment, but I do keep  it covered when not in use (a
GBP2.99 plastic printer cover from PCWorld). I occasionally give it a
blow-out with a KenAir aerosol.
