I just released VueScan 7.5 beta 8 for Windows, Mac OS 8/9/X
and Linux.  It can be downloaded from:

What's new in version 7.5 beta 8

* Fixed problem when turning off "Prefs|Refresh each scan"
* Improved support for '+' and '=' in file names
* Improved "Filter|Infrared clean"
* Reduced amount of unnecessary work when refreshing
* Reduced memory utilization by 24 MBytes
* Reduced CPU time used when idle and scanning from disk
