Thanks, David.  I had to do a reinstall of XP, and that seemed to sort out
all my residual problems with the SS4000.  Interestingly, I started using
the SS4000 again because XP would blue-screen whenever I turned on my
LS-4000 (probably a motherboard/BIOS issue with FireWire devices).  One
more point in the Polaroid's favour.
