Streaks like this usually are due to a particle of dirt which tracks along
with the CCD as it scans. IME they are usually on the CCD face - anywhere
else in the optical path tends to be out of focus. Despite what Polaroid
say I would try 'canned air' - but be terribly careful not to squirt liquid
propellant into the scanner. You must keep the can upright.
