I just released VueScan 7.1.17 for Windows, Mac OS 8/9/X
and Linux.  It can be downloaded from:

What's new in version 7.1.17

  * Added support for Polaroid SprintScan 4000 Plus
    when using FireWire (USB not supported)

  * Fixed problem scanning underexposed or overexposed film

  * Fixed text on buttons on Mac OS X

  * Fixed problem with some UMAX scanners with some
    SCSI controllers

  * Fixed problem with some Acer scanners changing
    options at random times

  * Improved USB scanner support on Mac OS X 10.0.4 and later

  * Removed "Color|Image brightness" option since
    the "Color|Gamma" and "Color|White point (%)" options
    are more effective
