Hello,
I have the SS 4000 for more than a year now. I agree that the documentation
for Silverfast is terrible! However, the newest version of Polacolor
Insight (5.0 and available from the web-site) is really easy to use and just
as good as Silverfast. So I suppose my comments are: a) don't bother trying
to configure Silverfast for your computer since it is very confusing; b) use
Ian Lyons' web-site as a guide if you do.
And c) use Polacolor Insight 5.0. Having used both software packages now
for quite a while, I can say with authority that the Polacolor 5.0 is better
and easier.
Finally, give yourself a few days before doing an evaluation.
