filmscanners: yet *another* low cost way to avoid the future

Anthony, since you seem dead set against any low cost way to add scanning
hardware for the Nikon, why not just upgrade your present PC to Win2K and
add the included FireWire card? If you're worried that the speed of your
computer will degrade (which, in my experience isn't the case with Nt4 to
W2k upgrades), then simply buy an Overdrive processor for your computer. A
quick look at Pricewatch.com shows the PPro overdrive can be had for as low
as $70, which will boost your sped from 200 to 333 MHz. It's cache also runs
at full chip speed, and there's 512K of it (most 200MHz PPros had 256K).
