I just purchased the Spyder / PhotoCal / Profiler RGB Bundle through
Chromix. So far the only thing I have done is use the Spyder hardware and
PhotoCal software to profile my Mitsubishi 920 monitor attached to my new
Mac G4. I must say that I did not see much difference in Photoshop
before/after calibrating - nor did I expect to see much change. It is after
all a new, fairly high end monitor.

I will be using Profiler RGB to create a profile for my printer, but that
will have to wait until after I receive a new flatbed scanner. My old Umax
Astra 600S just isn't good enough - much too noisy and the colors are way
off. This is part of the reason I was asking about scanning 4x5s on a
flatbed in another thread. Two years ago I was going to purchase the Monaco
EZ Color package, but (reading the fine print) it did not work with my
printer, an Alps MD5000 with the dye sub option. Give me about a month and
I will let you know how Profiler works with the Alps. When the Alps breaks
down I will switch to a photo quality inkjet printer.
