I believe it already has.  The Minolta Elite (a 2820 dpi scanner with 
digital ICE) sold here for between $1700 and $1900  CAN ($1 CAN = $.65 
US).  The new price is about $1200.  That's a substantial drop, which 
I'm sure is in response to the new scanners, and also perhaps to 
something new coming from Minolta?? (I'm guessing a 4000 dpi version).
