I have an LS30 (the Nikon mentioned earlier) and would definitely agree.
I'm not very impressed with the results I get out of scanning silver based
B&W film.

And T400CN scans beautifully on the LS30. :)  The lack of grain when printed
with
wet chemistry is amazing.  Someone gave me the tip of exposing at EI250...
